| Customer Reviews: Health Metamorphosis and Brand Placememt June 29, 2010 MDBurgos 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In general, the book was pretty good. I know that for some people it changed their lives, but they don't remember much about the book. Very interesting. For example, when I mention that she's very heavy handed on her brand placement and item endorsement, they can't recall. Yet, they bought a product that was endorsed in the book, and is sold by the author's benefactor/sponsor who wrote the intro. (NOte: In some places it reads like an infomercial script.) Also, when I mention that she had an extreme case of allergic sensitivity to a lot of things (both environmental and dietary), they also don't remember reading that. So, they changed their lives based on an extreme case. Kind of worrisome. The author's story is unique and points more towards the failure of the health establishment (medicine, pharmacy, nurses, et al) to stay on the case and diagnose the causes of her illness. Let's be clear: Her case of allergic sensitivity is so severe that she had to completely restructure her life. Unfortunately, it also made her family nuts because she made them conform to her restrictions (but she was the only one who was ill and needed the limits). Not that she doesn't have a lot of helpful advice. I advise only that the reader beware: Not everyone has the same maladies. Good news, though: She researched a ton of things; so, it's a good place to start. For those who suffer from illness and have yet to find a cause, let alone a cure, this is a helpful book that provides hope. However, for the average person who just wants to live a healthier lifestyle, it's a bit extreme. There are plenty of good health magazines and websites that will be more beneficial in the long term.
